I’m retired but this piece really sings to me because my former division colleagues really bonded during our lunches. We were fortunate to have a space for gathering & it really makes a difference.
These recipe ideas look great, and the tip on eating with both a fork and knife is brilliant! I had surgery two months ago, and was moving very slowly after, which opened my eyes to so many things! One morning, I decided to make sourdough toast with peanut butter and banana for breakfast. Something made me slice it into four strips(I've never done this before?). I was so slow making and eating that toast, it would have been painful for someone to watch. I think the entire process took 20-30 minutes, but must admit it felt special, and tasted delicious! So often even if we do stop to eat, we don't truly enjoy it or make it special. Your lunch tips and ideas make that easier to prioritize.
Oh I'm definitely a work and eat person when things get busy or when I'm running from meeting to meeting 🫣 This week I will try for a short walk around the block at lunchtime!

That’s wonderful! I’m always so glad to have a great team of people to connect with and be supported by.
My new office has a sauna and I’ve been wondering when I’d manage to use it… might make 30min saunas and 15min meals my new lunchtime ritual!
That sounds wonderful!

That sounds lovely. It’s amazing what can happen when we are forced to slow down. I had that after surgery as well.
Our poor bodies try to teach us so much and yet many lessons are still short-lived.
To be honest, it never occured to me to skip any meals on purpose because I had to work. I wonder if it is my Italian side :D!
Whichever side it is, that’s wonderful! I can’t even count how many meals I’ve skipped in my life.
